Social Responsibility and BEE Joint Ventures
Professionally developing female contractors in the contruction industry Re a abelana is just one of the programmes that Khuthaza runs to Professionally Develop female Contractors in the Construction Industry.
This particular programme focuses on higher level of contractors that have been doing business in this arena from about 4 years to at least 12 years to date.
The Re a abelana pilot programme brought together a number of components aimed at both personal and business development with a view to the longer term. The women are from diverse backgrounds ages dreams and goals. But they all have one thing in common a pioneering spirit! These women exude the commitment and determination to stay in this industry and make a success of their business ventures. This programme fosters “sharing and caring attitude” and this integrated approach is what the industry is all about. Learning and educating is what forms the fundamental of any business venture and Khuthaza inculcates this methodology in all its empowerment programmes that we offer for females in this industry. The majority of the women in the programme have been involved with WFH for several years now. A few of their current projects include (but are not limited to):- A R6 million Subsidy Housing Project in the Vaal A R7.5 million Road Maintenance Contract (Benoni/Heidelberg area) A R11 million supply of Bulk Water for the City of Joburg SQDC is proud to be associated with Khuthaza and graciously sponsored Project Management training to the value of R36 000 for the first of such training courses.
